UtiliPoint Releases Key European Retail Markets and Software Study

Brno, Czech Republic-April 15, 2008-UtiliPoint® International, Inc. (UtiliPoint) announces the release of its European Retail markets and Customer Care/Billing Software study conducted through 2007. The study report comprises two parts; firstly the result of a survey of European utilities regarding their CIS/Billing software and, second, a comprehensive review of European retail markets to provide the definitive research findings on European retail markets and software.
UtiliPoint devised a ranking mechanism for its review of European retail markets and presents a ranking of European countries using those criteria as well as the background research, analysis and findings to back up the rankings. Countries included in the ranking include the Nordic region, Central and Eastern European, Iberia and Germany. Mature retail markets in the UK, Ireland and Netherlands were not included in the study.
The CIS/Billing software survey provides some insights into how European utilities procure their software, how they view outsourcing and which vendors and solutions they utilize.

"Unforntunately, our research suggests that in many E.U. member states, the reality of customer choice at the residential level is still some ways off."
