UtiliPoint International Launches 3-part ETRM Vendor and Market Review Series

HOUSTON—April 12, 2006—UtiliPoint International, Inc. (UtiliPoint) announced today that it has launched a new three-part energy trading, transaction and risk management (ETRM) Vendor Review Series. UtiliPoint's ETRM Vendor Review Series is designed to provide comprehensive coverage of the ETRM software vendor space for buyers, systems integrators, consultants and vendors.

The ETRM Vendor Review Series comprises of three component studies and is already underway through the previously announced Market Sizing Study of North American energy trading, transaction and risk management (ETRM) software markets. The second component is an ETRM Vendor Evaluation Study that will rank both the vendors and their solutions by a number of important criteria. The final component is a Market Perception Study that will evaluate how end users perceive solutions in the ETRM software space. The three studies will provide definitive one of a kind coverage of ETRM software solutions and markets. It will also provide the first evaluation of the size of the ETRM software market.

UtiliPoint is known for its ground breaking studies that keep its clients current with technology and software developments across a number of energy and utility industry sectors. These studies are essential for energy companies and utilities that need to monitor the ETRM software and technology markets. UtiliPoint is providing both analysis and essential insight into ETRM vendors and their solutions through this series which will provide a “one stop shop” for those desiring to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the ETRM products and markets. It will provide a benchmark for ETRM vendors to measure themselves against and the definitive source for energy companies to ensure they are current with ETRM solutions as well as providing facts and figures upon which ETRM investment decisions can be made.

“Until now, there was no single definitive source of insight and analysis into the ETRM vendor, software and product offerings,” said Andrew Bruce, Vice President, Trading & Risk Management Practice for UtiliPoint. “We feel that a single study only covers one aspect of the issues to be considered when reviewing the ETRM vendor space. It is important for vendors and end users to be able to obtain the complete picture so that they can adjust strategy as required to move forward.”

The 3 Part Vendor Review Series covers analytics, risk management, energy trading, marketing and risk management, scheduling and modeling software. The studies will be conducted by Andrew Bruce and Dr. Gary M. Vasey at UtiliPoint and follows the forthcoming publication of their new UtiliPoint Expert Series book, "Trends in ETRM Software - A Primer."
