Albuquerque, New MexicoSeptember 7, 2006UtiliPoint® International, Inc. (UtiliPoint) announced today that it is establishing a European presence as a first step in building a European focused energy and utilities analysis and consulting practice. Dr. Gary M. Vasey, Vice President, Macroenergy Analysis, has already relocated to establish the company's first European office. For the past year, UtiliPoint has issued a European version of its respected IssueAlert newsletter to a growing list of subscribers and has already successfully undertaken a number of projects based in Europe.
"UtiliPoint has many European-based clients and has received several requests to locate a European-based office for expanding a focus on the region." said Jon T. Brock, UtiliPoint's COO. "This move will help fulfill those requests and Dr. Vasey, a native of the United Kingdom, is well positioned to establish and grow the UtiliPoint presence in Europe."
As a first step in building a European Practice, Dr. Vasey will launch a series of market studies commencing with a European Energy Trading, Transaction and Risk Management Vendor Perception Study (prospectus available on request). Later this year, UtiliPoint expects to expand its coverage of the CIS/Billing market in the U.K. and Ireland with another report focused on European Union countries. Additionally, he will be seeking partnerships with other European based analysts and consultants focused on energy and utilities. He will also assist in covering issues and providing analysis on the European energy and utility markets via the European IssueAlert.
