Promote Performance-Driven Utility Concept
For Immediate Release
Albuquerque, NM—August 15, 2006—UtiliPoint International, Inc. (UtiliPoint) announced today that George Campbell has joined the company as an affiliated consultant.
"George is an important addition to UtiliPoint's team," said Bernie Neenan. "George's hands-on experience with the operation of wholesale electricity markets complements our strengths in market design and performance evaluation. UtiliPoint will work with George to develop a suite of services to help Vertically Integrated Utilities (VIUs) realize greater efficiency by linking the management of their electric wholesale functions with commercial retail operations."
Bob Bellemare, CEO of UtiliPoint, explained, "UtiliPoint intends to be at the forefront of developing the protocols and practices needed to guide utilities toward a new performance paradigm, which we call Performance Driven Utility, that allows them to operate efficiently and effectively."
George has over 30 years of electric industry experience including extensive managerial oversight of all aspects of wholesale electric market operations. He managed the merchant function of a vertically integrated utility for the past seven years, focusing on improved enterprise performance through "trading around regulated utility assets." He managed a successful foray into California's retail access market where he was responsible both for wholesale supply procurement and retail pricing and settlement. Previously, he worked for VIUs focusing on customer issues and needs, including helping customers successfully adapt to time-differentiate pricing of electricity.
