UtiliPoint® International, Inc. Announces
Technology Vendor Analysis Matrix (TVAM) Series for Utilities

First Issue Rates Meter-to-Cash Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
for the North American Utility Market

Albuquerque, N.M., April 6, 2005—UtiliPoint® International, Inc. announced today the results of its first Technology Vendor Analysis Matrix (TVAM) series focused on meter-to-cash outsourcing service providers in North America. This TVAM ranking provides the basis for utility evaluation of key outsourcing criteria including technology and application architecture, cost of ownership, financial strength, service delivery, and the business and cultural relationship between North American outsourcers and their customers.

In developing the TVAM series, UtiliPoint® examined in detail the utility technology outsourcing market and industry service providers. After fielding three surveys—a direct survey, a peer review survey and a validation survey—outsourcers were ranked by a variety of important criteria including: Peer Assessment, Awareness/Reputation, Industry Focus/Market Share, Channels and Partnerships, Customer Satisfaction, Competitive Position, Financial Viability, Technology Functionality, Integration, Development Process, Product Testing and Support.

“The TVAM series is the first industry vendor ranking of its kind to be used primarily as a research-based, pre-selection tool for utilities,” said Ethan Cohen, director of Utility and Energy Technology for UtiliPoint®. “It was developed out of our clients' need for accurate, independent, and unbiased benchmarking and assessment of industry vendors via key selection criteria that were more complex than the review of any single functionality or business requirement.”

UtiliPoint® will announce five additional TVAMs later this year. They will include UtiliPoint's TVAM for: Municipal CIS Technology Providers, Emerging Technology CIS Providers, Tier-One CIS Technology Providers, AMR/AMI Technology Providers, and Asset Management Technology Providers.
